About Our Laboratory Services

Laboratory testing is performed in-house for patient convenience and incorporated into care when clinically appropriate. Labs may be used for baseline evaluation, treatment planning, and ongoing monitoring for hormone therapy, weight management, erectile dysfunction, vitamin therapy, and overall metabolic health, or as an optional screening to evaluate potential underlying contributors to hair loss for patients undergoing hair regeneration treatments.

Why Laboratory Testing Matters

Laboratory testing provides objective information about a patient’s health and may help identify hormonal, metabolic, nutritional, and other underlying factors contributing to symptoms.

Labs are also used to establish baseline values, guide treatment decisions, and monitor treatment response and safety over time.

When Is Laboratory Testing Recommended?

Laboratory testing may be recommended for patients undergoing hormone replacement therapy, medical weight management, erectile dysfunction management, vitamin therapy, hair regeneration, or other treatments requiring baseline evaluation or ongoing monitoring. Testing is individualized based on medical history, symptoms, medications, and treatment goals.

How Lab Services Are Incorporated Into Your Care

Lab services are incorporated as an adjunct to other consultations and treatment plans, including hormone replacement therapy, medical weight management, erectile dysfunction management, vitamin therapy, and hair regeneration. Testing is ordered when clinically appropriate based on the patient’s medical history, symptoms, treatment plan, and monitoring needs.

What to Expect During Lab Testing

Blood is collected in-house using sterile technique and appropriate blood collection equipment. Specimens are processed as needed, including centrifugation when required, and sent to Quest Diagnostics for laboratory analysis.

Once results are available, patients can access their laboratory results through their patient portal in our EMR system, allowing them to conveniently view their results as part of their ongoing care.

Recovery & Aftercare

There is no downtime following routine blood collection, and patients can return to normal activities immediately. Mild tenderness or bruising at the collection site may occasionally occur.

Aftercare instructions are automatically emailed to patients with guidance on caring for the blood draw site and what to expect afterward.

Results

Laboratory results are typically available within approximately one week and can be viewed through the Refyne Medical Aesthetics and Wellness patient’s portal. Results are reviewed by the provider, and patients will be contacted if findings require a change or adjustment to their treatment plan; otherwise, results are reviewed together at the patient’s scheduled follow-up visit.

Why Choose Refyne?

At Refyne Medical Aesthetics and Wellness, laboratory testing is an important part of your wellness treatment plan and ongoing monitoring—not simply a one-time requirement before starting therapy. Labs are ordered at appropriate intervals and personally reviewed and interpreted by your provider to evaluate treatment response, safety, and whether adjustments to your treatment plan may be needed.

For added convenience, patients can schedule their follow-up lab appointments directly with Refyne Medical Aesthetics and Wellness via the online booking portal, and have their blood drawn in our office. Laboratory testing may be billed through insurance, or self-pay options are available for patients who are uninsured or have high-deductible insurance plans.
