Meet Dr. Brooklyn Buras, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC

Founder & Nurse Practitioner | Refyne Medical Aesthetics & Wellness

Dr. Brooklyn Buras, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, is an ANCC board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. As the founder of Refyne Medical Aesthetics & Wellness, she brings extensive training, advanced clinical experience, and a passion for delivering natural-looking aesthetic results through evidence-based, individualized care.

Brooklyn began her journey in medical aesthetics in Beverly Hills, California, where she completed advanced certification in neuromodulator and dermal filler injections through the American Association of Aesthetic Medicine and Surgery. She further expanded her expertise in Thousand Oaks, California, earning certification in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy.

Her pursuit of advanced clinical training led her to New England, where she practiced with one of the region’s leading medical aesthetics and wellness organizations. Working across eight high-volume clinics, Brooklyn gained extensive hands-on experience in advanced facial balancing, injectable treatments, and comprehensive aesthetic and wellness therapies. During this time, she trained alongside injectors recognized among America’s Top 100 Aesthetic Injectors, further refining her techniques and deepening her understanding of facial anatomy, precision, and natural-looking results. She also contributed to the development of clinical protocols for advanced skin resurfacing procedures, strengthening her expertise in laser-based skin rejuvenation and comprehensive aesthetic care.

In addition to her expertise in medical aesthetics, Brooklyn expanded her clinical knowledge of hormone optimization while working alongside one of New England’s leading bioidentical hormone replacement therapy prescribers. She gained extensive hands-on experience performing hormone pellet insertion procedures for both men and women, developing individualized treatment plans, and managing hormone replacement therapies. Her commitment to comprehensive wellness extends beyond hormone optimization, with continued education in women’s gynecologic health, men’s health, and advancements in hormone therapy. Through an evidence-based approach, she focuses on addressing hormonal concerns, improving quality of life, and supporting long-term health and well-being.

Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, Brooklyn always envisioned returning to her home state to introduce the advanced treatments and innovative approaches she experienced during her training and practice in New England. When her husband’s career as a Harvard-trained gynecologic surgeon brought their family to Lafayette, she recognized an opportunity to create a practice that reflected her own philosophy of aesthetic medicine and wellness.

That vision became Refyne Medical Aesthetics & Wellness — a practice founded on the belief that aesthetic medicine and overall wellness should complement one another. Refyne brings together advanced aesthetic treatments, regenerative therapies, and individualized wellness services in a sophisticated, patient-centered environment.

With over 25 years of experience in customer service and 10 years in business operations, Emma brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and a genuine dedication to creating exceptional patient experiences at Refyne Medical Aesthetics & Wellness.

Throughout her career, she has developed expertise in team development, employee training, recruitment, and operational management. Her experience overseeing client intake processes and building strong, service-oriented teams has shaped her commitment to ensuring every individual feels welcomed, valued, and cared for.

Driven by a personal passion for health, wellness, and helping others look and feel their best, Emma is excited to bring her extensive experience into the field of medical aesthetics.
